Dua after Durood-e-Ibrahim -(Namaz)

Allah humma inna nasta-eenoka wa nastaghfiruka wa nu'minu bika wa natawakkalu alaika wa nusni alaikal khair, wa nashkuruka wala nakfuruka wa nakhla-oo wa natruku mai yafjuruka, Allah humma iyyaka na'budu wa laka nusalli wa nasjud wa ilaika nas aaa wa nahfizu wa narju rahma taka wa nakhshaa azaabaka inna azaabaka bil kuffari mulhik

O Allah! We implore You for help and beg forgiveness of You and believe in You and rely on You and extol You and we are thankful to You and are not ungrateful to You and we alienate and forsake those who disobey You. O Allah! You alone do we worship and for You do we pray and prostrate and we betake to please You and present ourselves for the service in Your cause and we hope for Your mercy and fear Your chastisement. Undoubtedly, Your torment is going to overtake infidels O Allah!

O Allah guide me among those You have guided, pardon me among those You have pardoned, befriend me among those You have befriended, bless me in what You have granted, and save me from the evil that You decreed. Indeed You decree, and none can pass decree, and none can pass decree upon You, indeed he is not humiliated whom You have befriended, blessed are You our Lord and Exalted.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to praise Allah before starting his khutbah.  The Khutbat-ul-Haajjah is read in Arabic and is:

  • إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ ,نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ ونستغفره ,ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ,ومن سيئات أعمالنا ,مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ ,وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ ,وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ,وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
  • Al-hamdu Lillaahi nahmaduhu wa nasta’eenahu wa nastaghfiruhu, wa na’oodhu billaahi min shuroori anfusinaa wa min sayi’aati a’maalinaa. Man yahdih Illaahu falaa mudilla lahu wa man yudlil falaa haadiya lahu. Wa ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu la sharika lahu wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluhu.
  • Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, the One, having no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

You can recite any verse that will call people to be God-fearing and pious. The verses commonly read are 3:102, 4:1, and 33:70-71.

  • Ya ayyu-hallatheena aama-nutta-qullaha haqqa tuqatihi wala tamootunna illa waantum muslimoon (You who believe, be mindful of God, as is His due, and make sure you devote yourselves to Him, to your dying moment.

(Jumma Khutbah) Surah Nahl (the Bee): Verse 90 - The Justice and Compassion Verse that is Read Every Friday

This verse is read in the second part of the Friday sermon, in every Muslim mosque since the time of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz (2 November 682 (26th Safar, 63 AH) – February 720 (16th Rajab, 101 AH)) (Arabic: عمر بن عبد العزيز‎‎) was an Umayyad caliph who ruled from 717 to 720. He has been also called Umar II or the fifth righteous Caliph. He was also a matrilineal great-grandson of the second caliph Umar ibn Al-Khattab.

    1. 'Ibadallah. Innal-laha yamuru bil 'adli wal ihsani wa itae dhil qurba wa yanha 'anil fahshaa-e wal munkari wal baghi, ya 'ezukum la 'allakum tadakkarun.
    1. Udkurullahal 'azema yadh kurkum, wash kuruuhu yazid kum, was taghfiruhu yaghfir lakum, wattaquhu yaj'allakum min amri kum makhraja. Wa aqimis-salah.

Translation of the above:

    1. Slaves of Allah! "Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that you may remember." [Quran 16:90].
    1. Remember Allah the supreme (in glory) and He will remember you, and be thankful to Him, and He will increase you in bounty, and seek His forgiveness, He will forgive you, and have Taqwa of Him (Godfearing, devoutness, piety), He will make for you a way out of your issues. Establish the prayer.

وَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ And ask for His forgiveness Verb (imperative, 2nd person plural) + Pronoun (3rd person singular) A command to seek Allah’s forgiveness through repentance. Wastaghfirūhu
يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ He will forgive you Verb (present tense, 3rd person singular) + Pronoun (2nd person plural) Allah will forgive the sins of those who seek His forgiveness. Yaghfir lakum
وَاتَّقُوْهُ And fear Him Verb (imperative, 2nd person plural) + Pronoun (3rd person singular) A command to fear Allah and remain conscious of Him in all actions. Wattaqūhu
يَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَمْرِ كُمْ مَخْرَجًا He will make a way for you Verb (present tense, 3rd person singular) + Pronoun (2nd person plural) + Noun (definite) + Noun Allah will provide a solution or way out from any difficulties or problems you face. Yaj‘al lakum min amrikum makhrajan
وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ And establish the prayer Verb (imperative, 2nd person singular) + Noun (definite) A command to establish and perform the prayer regularly. Wa aqimi aṣ-ṣalāh
